| 内容記述 | Kumamoto earthquake with a seismic intensity of 6 occurred on April 14 and 16th in 2016. Kumamoto city, communities around Mt. Aso and coastal communities on the north part of Yatsushiro bay suffered significant damage including landslide, land subsidence along rivers, collapse of wooden houses and concrete buildings, fault generation in a field and road, and loss of lives. It was expected that sand, mud, wood and bamboo debris by landslide of mountain slopes would settle in a river first and then possibly flushed by river flow, and finally discharged into the coastal area. This debris would cause further environmental problems to the nearshore ecosystem. In addition, Kagoshima University hosts nearly 1,000 students and staff from Kumamoto prefecture, thus the disaster damage assistance project was set up voluntarily by the authors just after the Kumamoto earthquake. The assistance project consists mainly of two parts; 1) emergency support (food, water, sanitary products and goods to set up a natural disaster volunteer center) and 2) technical support (field survey of damage and drone application). The project activity is summarized here to integrate the knowledge on emergency disaster assistance and prepare for the next ‘big one’ disaster. | |||||
