| 内容記述 | 大学の学部段階（学士課程）において、学位プログラムや学部横断型プログラムなど、新しい試みが始まっている。これは、ディシプリン（学問領域）に即して構築された学部・学科等に準拠する旧来の学士課程とは大きく異なるものである。 だが、そのような取り組みの実効性については充分な検証がなされているとは言い難い。そこで本稿では、学部・学科におけるカリキュラムの標準的な履修モデルにおける学びを「縦の学び」、学部・学科を越えた領域横断的な（あるいはディシプリン横断型の）学びを「横の学び」と定義し、「『縦の学び』と『横の学び』には相乗効果が期待できるのではないか」との問いを立て、その検証を試みる。 具体的には、2017年度より鹿児島大学が設置した「地域人材育成プラットフォーム」に着目する。これは同大学において地域人材を育成するために学部を横断して学びを展開する枠組みである。これに携わる学生は、それぞれの学部・学科等に所属しつつ、様々な地域の学びをも経験する。このような学生が、地域の学びとして得るものがあるのは勿論のこと、その地域の学びが自身の学部・学科等での学びに対してどのように影響するのか調査する。 すなわち、これは学部横断型教育プログラムの意義を探ることのみを目的とするものではなく、むしろそのような学部横断型の学び（延いてはディシプリンを越えた学び）が、学士課程そのものにどう影響するのか、どのような意味があるのか、それを検証することが目的である。 |

| 内容記述 | A lot of Japanese universities have begun the new attempts such as degree-oriented programs and inter-disciplinary minor programs. They are very different from the traditional bachelor's degree programs complied with the faculties and departments established by the disciplines. However, it is hard to say that the effects and results of those programs have been fully verified. Therefore, in this paper, we call the discipline-based learning in the standard courses according to the traditional faculty or department as “vertical learning”, and inter-disciplinary learning such as community-based learning beyond the faculty or department as “horizontal learning”. Then, the research question of this paper is following; Is it possible to expect synergy between“ vertical learning” and“ horizontal learning”? Specifically, we focused on the undergraduate inter-disciplinary education programs for regional talents as bachelors at Kagoshima University since 2017. The students participating in the programs experience not only “vertical learning” but also “horizontal learning”. We have investigated how these students can gain“ vertical learning” under the influence of“ horizontal learning”. In other words, this is not just about exploring the significance of inter-disciplinary education programs, but rather how such inter-disciplinary learning (and learning beyond discipline) affects the traditional bachelor's programs. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the questions by verifying the synergy between“ vertical learning” and“ horizontal learning”. |
