内容記述 | A study of the donor-recipient relationship in ODA identified Leverage as the most successful tool used by the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to influence both Priority and Disbursement of aid. Further, the study showed that adapting to the relationship motivation of “Reciprocity” alleviates the Disbursement and Priority control held by donor nations, thus averting the expected destruction outcome for recipient countries using their own capabilities as Leverage for aid flow. Gross National Generosity (GNG) proposes to re-shape the development framework of recipient countries as “contributions.” Shaping development as a contribution creates a route for recipient countries to actively participate in global discussions with dignity through the value of their well-giving while still corresponding to the original relationship established by donor nations for ODA. This wellgiving replaces well-being, the goal of ODA as it currently exists and which automatically has led to the humbling of recipient nations and the stripping of their dignity. It is a philosophy for a dignified Pacific to enrich the world through transformation of self-perceptions by rearticulating what PICs can offer from their resources and achievements to enrich the world. | |||||
