| 内容記述 | On August 31, 1985, Kagoshima Prefecture was subjected to the effects of Typhoon 8513. The maximum mean 10 min. wind speed measured by the Kagoshima Meteorological Observatory was 27.9 m/s with gusts to 55.6 m/s. The strong winds caused significant damage to roofs, temporary houses and small structures. Examinations of the damage revealed that some of the conventional construction techniques, especially roofing techniques, should be improved in consideration of the wind effects. | |||||||||||||
