The wet faces were almost covered with bryophytes, and there was no bryophyte carpet on the dry faces and no rhododendron seedling. It is uncertain where the source of seed supply of these rhododendrons was, but it is quite natural to think that they come from the adjacent forest epiphyte rhododendrons if there is no terrestrial seed source near by. On the landslide site there was a dense mat of bryophytes on the floor in the open Rh.inconspicuum scrub, but rhododendron seedlings were never found. |
