| 内容記述 | In this research, I investigated apology acts in home situations observed in Chinese and Japanese television dramas, by making comparative examinations of the frequency of apology acts, the types of unpleasant conditions inducing apology, and the strategies for an apology. As for the frequency of apology acts, I found that Japanese people in the Japanese dramas tend to apologize more frequently than Chinese people in the Chinese dramas, which supports the stereotypical image of the Japanese and the Chinese, such as “the Japanese apologize easily and formally, but the Chinese don’t”. About the unpleasant conditions for apology, Chinese people are described to give special consideration to family members who are not so close. On the other hand, the Japanese give importance to close relationships within the family structure. This contrast may be from the difference in family configuration. About the apologetic strategies, regardless of the strength of bond among members, Chinese people use more types of strategies than Japanese people. And there are differences in the choice of strategies, even though they are in the same type of unpleasant condition; the "responsibility approval" strategy seems to be used most frequently by the Chinese, while the "explicit apology" is preferred by the Japanese. It appears that there are different "expectations" for apology between Chinese and Japanese society. In previous studies, the stereotypical difference in apology acts between the Japanese and the Chinese has been considered to originate from the polysemy of apology expression. In addition, my results suggest that the difference of understanding “unpleasant conditions” as the premise of apology and “apologetic strategies” as the means of apology is also a cause of the stereotypical image of the Chinese and the Japanese. |

| 内容記述 | 本研究は，ホームドラマを素材として，家庭内の人間関係に焦点をあて，日中の謝罪言語行動を，謝罪が行われる頻度，その前提となる不快状況，さらに謝罪に使われるストラテジーの各側面から分析した。 謝罪行為の頻度については，家庭場面においても、日本人のほうが中国人よりも頻繁に謝罪する傾向が見られ，先行研究で指摘されてきた「謝る日本人，謝らない中国人」というステレオタイプを支持する結果が得られた。 不快状況については，家庭内では中国人は疎遠関係の相手により注意を払って謝罪行為を行うが，日本人は親しい相手をより重視するように描かれており，日中の家族形態の違いがその背景にはあると考えられる。 謝罪ストラテジーについては，関係の親疎に関わりなく，日本人より中国人のほうが多種類のストラテジーを使っていることがわかった。その中で，中国では「責任承認」，日本では「明確な謝罪表明」がもっとも頻繁に見られたストラテジーであり，同じ不快状況でも日中の間で重要視されるストラテジーが異なるという結果を得た。この違いは，謝罪の受け手の間に日中で異なる「期待」が存在することによるのではないかと考えられる。 以上の分析結果から，「謝る日本人，謝らない中国人」というステレオタイプは，日中の謝罪の定型表現の多義性の有無に起因するのではないかと先行研究では指摘されていたが，それに加えて，謝罪の前提となる「不快状況」，また謝罪の手段としての「ストラテジー」についての認識の異なりが原因である可能性も本研究の結果からは示唆された。 |
